In the spirit of exploring the avenues that facilitate the quest
for agreements in the midst of growing social diversity, a dialogue
is proposed at the highest level concerning factors to be taken
into account and the dilemmas that should be faced in the dialogue
among peoples, races, social segments and diverse cultures to achieve
communication and encourage agreements that allow social coexistence.
The dialogue must be proposed, enriched and directed by personalities
from diverse sectors, from the varied world geography and representatives
of peoples and cultures that will impact the course of the current
century. Under this circumstance, it is necessary to engage the
participation of recognized thinkers with intellectual authority
recognized for their rigor, seriousness, and restraint, and that
have significantly been distinguished for their sensibility regarding
the challenges and importance of intercultural communication and
for their capacity to survey tomorrow’s social horizons.
Likewise, it is suggested that the dialogue approach the following
nodes, concepts and topics: confrontation/understanding; identities/globalization;
poverty/prosperity; war/peace; power/international security; inter-religious
dialogue; information media/cultural contexts; ethnic territories/national
borders.
